A Few of My Favorite Things: Santorini, Greece Edition

During my trip to Europe in 2022, I had the pleasure of visiting several countries across the continent. My journey eventually led me to the beautiful island of Santorini in Greece, where I took some time to relax and unwind. If you're planning a trip to Santorini, here are some of my favorite activities to help you unwind and recharge.

North Santorini Hotel

Santorini has numerous fantastic hotels, but I must highlight the exceptional qualities of The North Santorini Hotel. The staff is outstanding, and the hotel has a remarkable restaurant and spa that were instrumental in our relaxation. There was a day when we spent the whole day at the spa and laying out on the pool where we enjoyed a relaxing day. I particularly enjoyed the massage and body scrub treatments. It was a great experience! I must say, the customer service at this hotel is impressive. On the final day of our stay, they provided us with breakfast to take away at 4 am in the morning as we were leaving.

Every corner of the property offers a breathtaking view of the Aegean Sea. Whether you're dining at the restaurant, indulging in a spa treatment, or simply relaxing in your room, you'll be surrounded by stunning beauty.

I really appreciate the location of this hotel as it provides a peaceful and secluded atmosphere away from the hustle and bustle of Fira. It's perfect for couples or anyone who wants to unwind and relax. The hotel is situated in Pyros, which is approximately 10 miles away from Fira. In order to explore the local shops, one can either opt for a taxi or rent a car. However, we decided to rent an ATV. Although it was a bit nerve-wracking due to the busy tour buses and reckless drivers in Santorini, I would definitely do it again if given the chance.

A day on the Aegean Sea

During our second day in Santorini, we enjoyed a catamaran excursion on the Aegean Sea. The tour included a knowledgeable guide and a delicious lunch. We visited various beaches around the island, including a snorkeling spot where the water was warmer due to volcanic activity. Although this activity was optional, some of us took advantage of the opportunity. However, I decided not to participate. There is a shuttle that picks you up from your hotel to take you to the harbor for your excursion. There are many different tours to choose from. I choose one of the many available through Get Your Guide.
